ST. JOSEPH’S SCHOOL

(ICSE and ISC)

St. Anthony Education Society Hyderabad established St. Joseph's School in the Habsiguda area of Hyderabad since June 2001. The institution has been providing a highly systematized education since then and is affiliated to Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi (ICSE/ISC BOARD).

St. Joseph School, Habsiguda has been upgraded by the Council to ISC from the academic year 2021-2022, comprising of class XI & XII. St. Joseph School maintains highest academic and ethical standards with the best faculty of teachers inspiring the students to dream and discover their potential.

The Indian School Certificate ISC - (XI & XII) course, in accordance with the recommendations of the Kothari Education Commission is offered as a two year course.

INDIAN SCHOOL CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION

The school provides 10 + 2 years of schooling divided into Junior Classes (Classes I to V) and Senior Classes (Classes VI to XII) and prepares students for ICSE & ISC Examination. English is the medium of instruction. ISC is preparing students at the intermediary Level for different professions.

ELIGIBILITY

To ISC (Class XI)

  1. The Candidates (boys & girls) who have been awarded pass certificates in the (ICSE) Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination.
  2. The eligibility of candidates who have been awarded pass certificate in the equivalent examination conducted by another Examination Board (S.S.C. or C.B.S.E.) will be decided by the Secretary of the Council.

A candidate who has been awarded a pass certificate by another Examination Board (S.S.C. or C.B.S.E.) may be admitted provisionally to Class XI of ISC (11 & 12 year) course and should submit true copies of the statement of marks issued to the candidate by the examining board which will be forwarded by the school to the Council. If the candidate is found eligible the Council will issue “Eligibility Certificate”.

SUBJECTS OF EXAMINATION

Admissions are made on the merit basis subject to the availability of seats. The following subjects are offered.

  2. MEC - Mathematics,Economics,Commerce
HUMANITIES
  1. HEC - History,Economics,Commerce
  2. HEG - History,Economics,Geography
  3. HEPsy - History,Economics,Psychology
  4. HGPsy - History,Geography,Psychology

Candidates opting for BPC, MPC, AEC, HEC,HEPsy,HGPsy must opt along with above combinations one of the following subjects.

Elective English / Business Studies / Psychology / Computer Science / Physical Education

Note: A student must study English (Compulsory Subject) and 4 Elective Subjects.

THE SCHOOL YEAR

The school year will be from June to May every year. The first term is from June to September. The second term is from October to January. The third term will commence from February.

ADMISSION

Registration Forms may be obtained from the school website: sjshabsiguda.org / School Office.

Students seeking admission must submit the filled in Registration Forms within 7 days after their ICSE / CBSE / SSC Results.

Admission process for students will be completed before 1st week of June. Mere Registration will not guarantee admission.

On intimation parents should accompany the student for an interview. List of selected candidates will be intimated by SMS / Phone.

Payment of the prescribed fee in respect of selected candidates should be made on or before the date fixed for the purpose, failing which selection will be cancelled without further notice.

FEE STRUCTURE

  1. Fee particulars will be furnished in the school office.
  2. Fee once paid at the time of admission is not refundable / transferable.

SCHOOL WORKING HOURS

he daily working hours are from 8.40 a.m to 4.00 p.m with a lunch interval of 30 minutes from 1.00 p.m to 1.30 p.m.

On Saturdays the school will work from 8.40 a.m to 1.10 p.m.

Guidelines for writing various competitive examinations will be given.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

On all School days except Saturdays and at all school functions, students should wear the prescribed school uniform.

Boys :
  • Light blue self striped shirt
  • Black trousers

ATTENDANCE

A minimum of 75% of attendance of the total working days during each of the two years course is essential. Candidates whose attendance is below 75% of working days are ordinarily not eligible to appear for the examination.

TESTS AND EXAMINATIONS

Periodic Tests and Term Examinations will be conducted. Promotion from class-XI to class-XII is done on the basis of cumulative achievement level of the student throughout the year in the subjects he / she has been registered for. For promotions a candidate is required to have obtained at least 40% of marks in four subjects including English on the cumulative average. Parents must regularly check the progress of their ward. Pass marks for each subject is 40%.

CHOICE OF SUBJECT

All candidates opting ISC must select English (Compulsory) with minimum 4 elective subjects. The candidate will be evaluated for Socially Useful Productive Work and Community Service (SUPW) (Compulsory). The responsibility for the correct selection of subjects to meet the University or Professional requirements of a candidate will be that of the parent / student. No candidate shall be permitted to change his / her subjects after his / her registration in class XI.

WITHDRAWAL

If any student is to be withdrawn from the school, one month’s notice must be given in writing to the Principal. A Student who leaves the School during the term will be required to pay the tuition fee up to the end of the term in which he withdraws. Transfer certificates to withdrawal are not issued until all dues are settled.

All Students must follow the prescribed rules and regulations laid by the school.

Students can be asked to leave the school on the grounds of

  • Indiscipline
  • Unsatisfactory progress in studies
  • Irregular attendance
  • Involvement in any political activity
  • Involvement in any agitation or strike or any undesirable activity.

GENERAL

The school authority reserves the right to make any other rules and regulations and impose any other conditions from time to time in the interest of better administration of the school.
